Derby needs another active moderator. Right now I'm the active moderator
and the other moderator is mostly active moderating other lists. :-)
Which means there are sometimes long delays for a message in the
moderation queue to hit the list; or a message may even expire if, say,
I'm gone for a week.
All that is required is that you be an apache committer -- you don't
even have to be a Derby committer. If you've never moderated a list
before, it's quite easy. Pointers to info are at
http://www.apache.org/dev/committers.html#mail-moderate , but I can boil
it down to two basic steps:
1) Ignore moderation messages that include spam (Viagra, PayPal,EBay,
etc). These will expire after a week.
2) Reply to the acceptance email for moderation messages that include
posts about Derby topics.
