Xavion commented on DERBY-6841: ------------------------------- Sorry, it's a proprietary application and the databases contain information that I can't disclose. The best I can give you is fragments of the code and similar databases containing random data (if necessary). However, to begin with, just test using your own embedded Derby application. I simply added System.nanoTime() calls immediately before and after connecting/processing/disconnecting to get the event durations. The databases are unencrypted, but I have to supply a username and password when connecting/disconnecting. Each one contains hundreds/thousands of text files, which are up to a few kilobytes in size each. During the processing phase, I'm extracting each of these as Clobs. A single thread is dedicated to each database, and there are about 40 of them in total. Let me know if that isn't enough to reproduce the issue at your end. > Derby v10.12.1.1 is horribly slow compared to v10.11.1.1 in embedded mode > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: DERBY-6841 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-6841 > Project: Derby > Issue Type: Bug > Components: JDBC, SQL > Affects Versions: 10.12.1.1 > Environment: OS: Windows, OS X, Linux > CPU: Quad-Core Intel i5 > App: Swing, multi-threaded > Reporter: Xavion > Fix For: 10.11.1.1 > > > It takes much longer to open, read, and close embedded databases using > v10.12.1.1 than it did with v10.11.1.1.
