By the way, I am planning to create a small "proof of concept" app - 
independent from, but inspired by, the infamous DOTS test case. This way we 
don't have to run the whole DOTS machinery to reproduce the error I was 
seeing. I'll either add it to your derbyStress.java or post it to Jira as an 
independent repro program.
