Thanks! This was the little detail I'd failed to understand on the first discussion, and it makes perfect sense now. Also, thank you for adding the comments; that is very helpful and the regression test is much clearer now. I think that will be important for maintenance in the future as the crypto capabilities of the various JDKs continue to evolve. thanks, bryan
