Hi Myrna, That was the problem! Thanks a lot for your help. I removed the existing test output files and now everything passes - derbylang, lang/MathTrigFunctionsTest and lang/_Suite. Susan

I think if you have run a test in the same dir previously, the functionTests test harness will look at all *fail.txt files - or *pass.txt and pick up some items not normally part of the suite. Myrna
