Kim Haase commented on DERBY-2390:
----------------------------------

Oops, obviously I forgot about the online Derby Tutorial (except possibly
subconsciously!).

The online one doesn't seem to have been kept up to date: it seems to apply to
Derby 10.1.2.1, some of the pathnames (for example, that of the demo program in
the Embedded Derby section) have changed, and it doesn't reflect other changes
since that release (the introduction of derbyrun.jar, for example). This
reinforces Laura's point about the difficulty of maintaining documentation in
multiple places. I agree with her that it would be best to keep all the
intro/tutorial material in one place.

It would be great if the material that is in the Tutorial but not in Getting
Started or Working With Derby (and that is still current) could be moved into
the merged Getting Started.

> The activities in the Working with Derby guide should be merged into the
> Getting Started Guide.
> Review Getting Started Guide for any reference info that should be either
> "shared" with another guide
> or moved to another guide. For example, the SQL Syntax section in the Getting
> Started Guide should
> be moved to the Reference Manual.
