Haolan Qin updated DERBY-3033:
------------------------------

    Attachment: test.rar

1. copy the attached "viewer" folder to your derby folder
2. launch derby on port 9002
3. java -cp .;./derbyclient-10.2.2.0.jar SkipScan

You will see the exception in the console.

The exception will NOT be thrown if you modify the java file to hard-code those
numbers (4 and 100) in the query or if you run the query from a sql console
window. Also, if you add an index on dicom_send_requests.send_date and run the
same program, the exception will not be thrown.

If you turn on execution plan logging, you will see that the exception scenario
has a different execution plan from all other scenarios.

> select query results in nullpointer exception in skipScan()

> The following error was repeatedly thrown when we tried to run a select query
> via JDBC. Strangely, the exact same select query did not trigger any error
> when run from the command line console. After we added an index, the error
> went away completely.
