Still the test case attached to this issue would fail as there are no calls to 
Clob.free() since it appears to be written against jdk1.5. The core problem is 
that we are limitted to 32K entries. I was looking at the spec at section 
5.6.5.13 and if I read that correctly (which  perhaps I am not) we are limitted 
to 4 bytes for the locator.  I am not sure how to get around this hard limit.
