Bryan Pendleton commented on DERBY-3872:
----------------------------------------

I suspect that the problem is happening during the code generation phase
of the compiler, so you'll want to be debugging the 'generate()' methods that
are being called. Sometimes having a look at the overall 'shape' of the query
tree is useful, by e.g. dumping the query plan, as it will tell you what result
set 5
is and then you may be able to figure out which generate() method to step
through.

I suspect that the problem involves result set handling. Why does the
ExpressionClassBuilder for the (1=1) expression think that there are any
column references at all? There should only be literal references, not column
references,
in the (1=1) expression.

Hope this helps, I know it's pretty free-form.
