I've logged it in the bug tracker: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-4288 Note that the 10.0 manuals are very old and are no longer maintained, so using a newer version is strongly recommended. The manuals for Derby 10.5 can be found here: http://db.apache.org/derby/docs/10.5/ Unfortunately, the problem is still present in the latest revision of the manual. -- Knut Anders
