announcing 10.5.3.0

I'm planning to announce the 10.5.3 release in a couple hours. I'm not 
confident that we're going to touch bottom on where to deploy the maven2 
artifacts today. However, the maven1 artifacts have been deployed. The 
release is visible on the download page and the distributions have been 
mirrored. I think we're in pretty good shape.

I plan to announce the release unless someone objects by noon, San 
Francisco time.
