Good question. All: I guess the definition of "long" here is relative to the applications expectations. The third one (locks) is limited upward to the lock timeout for a single lock grab, but that may not be the whole story since the statement may need further locks to complete. So "longer than expected" is perhaps more to the point.. Dag
