I've attached a simplified version of the program, one that just does the repeated startups and shutdowns. The error is shown below. What am I doing wrong?
Your code seems reasonable to me. What version of Derby are you trying this with, and what version of Java are you using? Can you try some other combinations to see if it works in other configurations? Perhaps you have found a driver loading/unloading bug.
