I am using Sun's latest plug-in on Firefox. My OS is Ubuntu Hardy Linux.
I'm using the latest derby release 10.4.2.0
The database is created and I can do all the normal CRUD operations.
Maybe it has something to do with rails activerecord?

Please stand by. Francois is the expert on the Derby Tax demo--he's the
guy who wrote it. Unfortunately, I've just found out that he's been laid
up in the hospital. So it may take a while before he can help you move
this problem further along.
