guidelines are their for a reason. the general idea of the guidelines is to preserve the general image of fedora and it's artwork. if any artwork is made by and for fedora this image needs to be maintained. thus the guidelines must be kept. I have worked a lot with company logo's and the guidelines that come with them. all the guidelines set by fedora are reasonable and are in place to keep the general image of fedora smooth and the same.
if you want to create your own fan based art it is not a problem to change the rules a bit. but do not publish it as something official as it does not fit the rest of the artwork. i do not want to say that your wallpaper looks bad, because it does not look bad on it's own. the problem is that it does not fit all the other usage of the logo. i hope you understand the issue that is given here. yope out.
