Hi,

While calendar is the focus of 0.6, Chandler will ultimately be more of an all-around personal information manager. Triage in particular tries to restructure people's notions of time management (ie. task due dates) into a more organic workflow that assumes that projects and tasks change constantly, therefore fixed due dates are meaningless and counter-productive. It's one of the "spirit of Getting Things Done" ideas that we're especially committed to. So, ironically, while 0.6 is our dogfood calendar release we don't really want the logo to imply that Chandler adheres to traditional notions of time management.

Water droplet looks nice from an artistic perspective

based PIM functions with this.

Any chance of overlaying a semi-trasparent clock face
on bottom right corner of the constellation (- the one
with the brown background -) to see what it would look
like?

If not, then I would vote for the water droplet since
neither would really convey time management better
over the other and the water droplet looks better from
an artistic perspective.

Here's my informal tally. I had some hanging chads and
every time we counted it was different, but here are
the informal results.

Constellation 1111111111-10
Water Droplet-111111111-9
Spiral 111-3 (Although Sheila got 5 originally)

So I had a difficult time tallying up the votes, but a
rough informal tally showed that Water Droplet and
Constellation were pretty close. (I included approval
votes where people seemed okay with more than 1 logo
idea.) Some people provided feedback on all three
logos and didn't seem to have a clear preference for
any of the logos, so I didn't count those votes.

Based on feedback, I've done another pass at the
visual design. The water droplet still requires more
careful tweaking to make it look 3-D, but I've worked
on making it pop a bit more. I've also tried different
colors for the Constellation as well as tried a more
realistic depiction of Canis Major and one of the Big
Dipper.

Would appreciate another round of feedback thanks!
Again, the deadlin will be end of day this Friday, the
28th.

The only comment I will make about blue, is that
because blue is the most popular "favorite" color in
the U.S., all 3 operating systems come out of the box
blue and a lot of icons are blue. Looking at my own
Dock on my OSX machine right now, the Finder, Safari,
Apple Mail, and Photoshop are all bluish and Firefox
and AIM have blue in them though they also feature
yellow and orange highlights.
