Recently, I had mentioned on another thread about the possibility of developing a Cactus / Tree web application to help with Chandler’s project planning.  Some of the more graphical features described were intended to be more of a longer term goal.  However, a system based on a more simplistic web based voting form similar to the one posted here by Jeffrey should be considered as a more immediate aid to help with Chandler’s project planning including triaging of some of the discussion topics in the Design list.

For example, a form might be posted from time to time as needs arise to help with organization and triaging of various proposals for Chandler including issues brought up on the Design list.  A link to the voting form could be emailed to the list as Jeffrey did.  This seems a far more efficient and coherent way of collecting group opinions rather than asking to email back to specific threads and counting all the emails manually.

As time and resources permit, further features to a more elaborate web based project planning interface might be added to later on.

However, I would suggest that a project based donation feature is added to the interface somewhat more sooner rather than too far down the line as it may help to draw significant revenues from small business and consumers that might otherwise not be realized.  Also, it would help to assist with triaging of project proposals since users would essentially be voting with their feet.

Of course, project based donation feature does not have to be graphically demanding such as the previously mentioned Cactus webplication but could take on a more simple table based form which could be just as effective in achieving its goals.

Hi Folks,

The Calendaring & Scheduling Consortium, which OSAF is a part of, has a
mobile devices technical committee (otherwise known as TC-MOBILE) which
is in the beginning stages of encouraging standards based calendaring on
mobile devices.

The committee has a detailed questionnaire about mobile devices we're
inviting the general public to fill out, in an attempt to gather
information about what kinds of PDAs and cell phones people are actually
using today. If you and seven of your bosom buddies wanted to take a
few minutes and fill out the form at

http://www.calconnect.org/mobileQs.html

it would brighten my day. :)

The questionnaire is quite detailed, please don't let that deter you
from taking a quick pass at it and answering the easy questions. Blank
answers are perfectly acceptable.

Sincerely,
Jeffrey
