Hi Jim,

Have you had a chance to explore the project landing page? http:// chandler.osafoundation.org/ The top 3 links on the left will give you a high-level sense of our user-experience and technology goals as well as a road-map to 1.0.

In the meantime, what would help us the most is if you could describe specific usage scenarios in conjunction with the feature ideas you've been sending.

(ie. I was trying to schedule a doctor's appointment for some time next month, but I needed to make sure it didn't conflict with...It would have been helpful to be able to see X and Y together at the same time so that I could...)

If we can identify the problem you're trying to solve then we can feed the scenario through the design process to figure out the best way to integrate it into what we have today:

+ Explore multiple UI solutions to the problem (ie. you could either multi-select on the mini-cal or you could multi-select in the main calendar itself). + Connect up the workflows you're describing with other common workflows (ie. Is the user dragging an Email to the mini-calendar from the Email App area or starting with a sticky-note on their desktop and dragging that to the mini-calendar.)

Thanks! See more in-line.

First, thanks for everyone's tolerance. I am still trying to get up to speed enough to make helpful comments :-) Also, to the extent that there is more documentation I can read so as to avoid being redundant/offbase/mistaken -- let me know.

- Immediately noticed the monthly calendars start with Sun. again :-)

- Only way to have day view is to click on the day at top of column. Only way to switch to week view is to click on week. Yes? Or am I missing something. Assuming menu items will be added to allow for this.

- Allowing for a pull-down, drop-out or other clickable method for changing "starts" and "ends" dates. This is more important than for times, since you can (sometimes) drag an event within a day, but you cannot (yet) drag it to the small calendars on the left to change a date.

- A little bit confused about the interaction of collections still. In looking at events associated with different collections, I can generally move the event if I have selected any of the collections to which the event belongs. However, sometimes this does not work, esp. with the "My items" -- I have read/write privilege on all of my collections. I'm happy to RTFM to know whether to file a bug or not.

I've been experiencing a bug on the Mac where the first time I try to drag an event into the sidebar, it won't move. But if I drag away from the sidebar (to the right side of the calendar canvas) and then I drag it left towards the sidebar, it works.

Could you describe your drag and drop scenarios in a little more detail? Specifically with respect to My items?

- Back to the idea of being able to highlight N days and have show up in a column, I would also love a "month" view, which would permit 4 weeks display in the typical calendar grid 7 x 5, but would allow you to do so over any four weeks (e.g. two weeks from Feb. two weeks from Mar.)

g'night

jim
