We played around with this idea back in January, but I wasn't sure
if the effect was too subtle. And I feel like anything more obvious
(e.g. 2 pixel dotted line instead of a 1 pixel dotted outline)

Tentative Event 6 (Mon @5PM) greys out the event. But I'm concerned
that that wouldn't allow the user to see which calendar the event
was on.
At this point, I would go with either Option 2 or 5. I don't have
terribly strong opinions either way. If no one else has any strong
opinions, I will do a Last call soon.
