I don't have an opinion on whether we should disable vs disappear for the timezone field in this case. Either option is acceptable for Preview so we should just do what is easiest technically. I do think we need to make one of these changes since currently it simply looks like it's enabled but doesn't work. It looks the same as the date field and when I click on that, I can edit.

Right, at some level the question of disable versus disappear becomes an opinion question. There are obvious places where one or the other is clearly better, and some cases like this where it's debatable.

My point is that making this element go away was being proposed as the solution to a problem that Sheila seems to be having where disabled form elements are not appearing properly disabled.

Hiding the element may be a good idea on its own merit, but we need to fix the actual problem rather than glossing over it.
