Removing this entry leads to obscure ways to create a document from a template. with this entry unseen from the menu, you first have to create an empty document by opening one of the OOo applications, then find the this menu from a second level menu, create the document from the template, and then delete the document which was first created. I doubt that's more user friendly than keeping the menu entry.
