Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz
first: sorry for my bad english The error: gnome crash: after I log in with gdm to NORMAL gnome I see only the background image and the mouse pointer, I can move mouse and thats all I can do. The last chance is to change to a text terminal and when I switch back to tty7 keyboard hangs up! The system is "ready" in this situation, but i see this only with PING from another machine. (And the mouse pointer.) The cause: Before the error I use desktop effects, Compiz Fusion. I produce first the error with change to the 2nd desktop (I use 4 desktop, not in cube) I don't see the menu, and I cannot switch back. After restart I diagnose the error is resident. The solve: I uninstall all packages of compiz. Before the compiz uninstall I can run gnome only "failsafe gnome" from gdm. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gutsy: gnome and keyboard crash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/127331 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for compiz in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
