OK, I tried this:

1. Check "rotate 90 degrees" and "landscape" in page setup. Preview is OK.
2. Go to print dialog. Orientation then defaults to "portrait" in this dialog,
which is reflected in preview and the actual printout. (This is another known
bug.) So one has to select "landscape" there as well.

I think I tried all combinations of the three settings "rotate 90
degrees" and "landscape" in the page setup dialog and "landscape" in the
print dialog, without success.

BUT: I just found out that if the preview is right, clicking on the
printer icon at the top of the preview window prints correctly!!! At
least this makes it possible to print in landscape. This doesn't involve
the print dialog at all, which has the drawback that it isn't possible
to choose printer or sheets.
