I have the same problem. I am using the default Gnome desktop (I think the manager is Metacity?). I insert names for the desktops and save them but on reopening, they have dissapeared. However, if I switch to another manager (beryl) and then back to Metacity some of the names reappear (usually destop 1. So the data is stored somewhere on the machine but is not being read in correctly. Can you help me identify what is wrong?
