Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libgnome-settings-daemon-dev

On Ubuntu Gutsy Tribe 5
During a restart after login the default Human theme had changed and the
first(1) message below was displayed.
Trying to change the theme back to Human by right-click - Change Desktop
Background, message (2) is displayed. What is weard is that Human is already
selected but my desktop still looks blue. I'm not sure whether this bug is
related anyhow to bug reports like #84876. Also most bugs of this nature seems
to be a result of an upgrade from feisty, but this just Gutsy.

(1)
There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.

Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work
correctly.

The last error message was:

Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application
did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply,
the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log
in.

(2)
Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'.
Without the GNOME settings manager running, some preferences may not take
effect. This could indicate a problem with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME (e.g. KDE)
settings manager may already be active and conflicting with the GNOME settings
manager.

** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
