In order for GNU/Linux to make effective use of vfat partitions, which are a critical componant of boot environments shared with windows, Nautilus needs to be able to parse/follow windows-style file/directory links. The current message on Ubuntu 7.10 (Sept. 2nd) is: "filename.lnk" cannot be opened No application suitable for automatic installation is available for handling this kind of file. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Nautilus should be able to parse .lnk files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136714 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
