Good news! The persistence overwriting problems seems to be fixed in
gutsy tribe5.

Only bad news is that firefox seems to crash when run from display :0.1
which is odd because it works fine when run from :0.0 and other programs
work fine when run from :0.1 so it appears to just be a firefox problem.
I may or may not file a bug in gutsy against this.

I was bummed to see that the displayconfig-gtk in gutsy still doesn't
support this type of configuration - it looks like they currently only
support multiple displays using xinerama - although I see grayed out
options for rotation so maybe it is work in progress.
