Public bug reported: Upgrading from gdm_2.20.0-0ubuntu3 to gdm_2.20.0-0ubuntu4 broken my xdmcp setup. I have the following in /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom:
[daemon] RemoteGreeter=/usr/lib/gdm/gdmgreeter [xdmcp] Enable=true On a remote system, I run: Xnest -query <server> :1 With ubuntu3, this works fine. With ubuntu4, the Xnest flashes between the X root weave and a white background a few times, then dies. I also end up with a /var/crash/_usr_lib_gdm_gdmgreeter.108.crash. If I comment out the RemoteGreeter, I can once again connect via xdmcp, however this is an obvious regression from ubuntu3 to ubuntu4, and a regression from the behavior in Feisty. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- xdmcp/gdmchooser breakage from 2.20.0-0ubuntu3 -> 4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152824 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
