Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution
I frequently receive .wav files as mime attachments. Evolution recognizes them as audio/microsoft-wav, but doesn't offer to play them. Nautilus plays them fine. I would have expected that evolution and nautilus used the same mime type application configuration. So, the unexpected behavior here is not the inability to play this audio file, but rather the apparent incongruity of evolution and nautilus file handling. My guess is that this occurs because evo is using the mime type and nautilus is using the suffix. I have no doubt that I can configure this somewhere, but my brief attempts to modify my .mailcap and .gnome /application-info/user.applications didn't work.
