I cannot confirm this bug on latest Ubuntu Gutsy release. Gdm doesn't accept the wrong passwords, I tested 10 differents passwords with non- ascii characters. The password I used for the accound was pippoo, because pippo is a too short password, it is not accepted.
Because this bug is about wrong passwords that are accepted, I set it to security bug. Still the good password is needed os it's far from dangerous, but this could hide a more serious security flaw. Is this bug still present in Dapper/Edgy/Feisty ? ** This bug has been flagged as a security issue -- Wrong password accepted in login window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/41923 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
