Binary package hint: compiz-gnome

when I push the log off button the GUI freezes, the mouse will move but
will not click on icons.

Before I push the log off button everything works ok, the "applications"
, "places" and "system" menus pull down ok and I can access the menus
fine. But when I push the Log off Button, keyboard does not work, mouse
moves but does not activate anything, and to stop the computer I have to
Ctrl-Alt-Backspace.
