If you remove the package 'tracker' which includes trackerd (the daemon) when trying to search within Nautilus the following D-Bus error dialog is displayed:
The folder contents could not be displayed. The name org.freedesktop.Tracker was not provided by any .service files. >From what I understand is that if the Tracker daemon is not running it should fallback on a simple 'find' like thing.
