I have this same problem. I was trying to arrange things and accidentally dragged the bar that said summary on it, right beside the notepad and checkbox at the top of the task panel, off of the task panel and all my summaries disappeared. I can't seem to get them back. visual effects don't seem to change things. I've attached a screen shot.
