I would reopen this bug if possible submitting the errors from the console during evolution start up. I use evolution 2.12.1 under kubuntu 7.10 in which my KDE default settings indicate firefox as browser. I followed the guideline 'Open link in new window' as behavior setting (this in firefox options cause in KDE is not possible so far). Maybe it is a problem of KDE for a gnome application like Evolution. If you like I could submit other proper infos.
