Hello, This fix worked for me:
Problem is fixable by the following solution: 1) Edit ~/.config/menus/settings.menu: - Open the Console - type: cd ~/.config/menus/ (enter) - type: nano settings.menu (enter) 2) Find <Move> tags in that file, and delete them and everything between them example: <Move> <Old>Administration</Old> <New>Administration/Administration</New> </Move> 3) Press Ctrl + X to exit - when it asks to save select YES. If you don't find any <Move> tags, it might be in another file inside the "~/.config/menus/ " folder. Probably called something like "mainmenu" or something similar. After all that is resolved, go to the bug report page here: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474821#c3 "Benjamin Gramlich" has apparently created a fix for this problem you can download, although I have not yet tried it. Hope this helps, Chris On Jan 29, 2008 12:44 PM, John Arthur Fensome <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I am certain I haven't 'dragged' anything I was changing a few setting > under "System | Preferences | Main Menu" and suddenly I have the same > problem, except I have NO MAIN MENU at all just a small dot that appears > to be approx' 2x2 pixels in size. > > How do I get my menu back? > > I cannot find anything as the 'search' tool (I used) was on this menu. > > Can anyone tell me how to get my Main Menu back? > > Selecting "Main Menu" to change options under the "System | Preferences > | Main Menu" does not do anything. > > This is urgent as I cannot access any of my applications. > > > > > -- > dragging problem > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/133668 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > -- dragging problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/133668 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
