Is this bug still an issue ? We are now shipping with default UTF-8 everywhere
en in fact, people should use UTF-8.
The upstream bug was closed as "WONTFIX".
The other bug pointed by sebastien (GNOME #106549) is years old without any
progress.
In fact, I think nearly everybody is now using UTF-8.
Anyway, if this issue is still important, feel free to reopen and mark it as
"CONFIRMED".
