Public bug reported:

Having upgraded from 7.10 to 8.04 alpha-4 via 'update-manager -d', the
following is reproduceable:
 - from a administrator account, create an unprivileged guest account.
 - switch into the guest account (via the top, right shut-down icon) but not
logging out of the admin account.
 - now log out from the guest account.
 - system does not return to a login screen, nor to the admin account but
remains at a light-beige background (default scheme running), with no dialog
options. The mouse pointer is visible and responds to mouse movement but no
other actions are possible and no key sequences seem to recover anything.
 - a power-cycle is required to recover.

** Affects: meta-gnome2 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
