I can confirm similar results from gnome-power-statistics on my Dell Inspiron 6400. This bug must have been introduced recently because this tool worked fine when I upgraded to hardy a few weeks ago. It should also be said that gnome-power-manager has stopped detecting my battery, or at least it doesn't show up in the system tray when discharging.
