So does this mean that ignored settings in gconf-editor are considered a
bug or not?

Sorry if I came off harsh, but it seems to me that I was not the one
bringing up other tools or options.

To reply to your statement that there are some applications that don't
show up in the (new) nautilus tab: on my system not one application
shows up. But I'll file a seperate bug report on that one.

Don't get me wrong, but it tends to get a bit frustrating that I first
have to fight to convince your team that something is not working is a
bug.

Lets just get the bug fixed. That is my main point. gconf-editor
settings should work and at this part they don't, at least not
completely.
