Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem-gstreamer

Hi,
during this bug submit, I noticed several similar bugs, but I decided to
open a new one since the others were old, already fixed or closed.

The problem I'm going to describe is present in Hardy, with all patches
applied (as of now).

The problem is simple. If I click on one of my movies, a Totem window
appears but immediatly closes without showing any movie. The same
problem happens with VLC and mplayer.

So I opened the movie (not a particular one) from the terminal, and with
Totem I get the following error:

The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 40 error_code 11 request_code 140 minor_code 19)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

This is my graphics card (NVIDIA with 32MB RAM):
