Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-nettool

steps to reproduce:
1. wget http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/hardy-desktop-i386.iso
    BTW: md5sum is: 86dc6f4792fa5a69e73e30cd33cdfd11  hardy-desktop-i386.iso
    and this is daily build dated: 17.04.2008.
2. boot using vmware server
3. System -> Administration -> Network Tools
4. choose "Ethernet Interface (eth0)" from combobox
5. click "Configure" button
after few seconds I get error message box saying:
   The Interface does not exist.
   Check that it is corectly typed and that
   it is correctly supported by your system

$ lsb_release -rb:
Description: Ubuntu 8.04
Release: 8.04

Please note that there is nothing wrong with the eth0 interface.
All applications (network manager, ifconfig, even gnome-nettools!) SHOWS
correct STATUS of eth0 (which is configured BTW).
The only problem is, you CANNOT CONFIGURE interface using gnome-nettools.

** Affects: gnome-nettool (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
