Public bug reported: For some reason, Rhythmbox doesn't display any notification when a new song is played, even though it's checked in gconf-editor and in the program itself.
Someone seem to only have this issue with Compiz enabled, but for me this is persist even with Metacity. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=4752201#post4752201 I'm running Ubuntu x86_64 (heron).
