I attach the obvious 4 lines patch that fixes this bug. Notice there's a TODO to make it an option. I don't think an option would be of any use here but if any of you can come with code I will add it to my patch. I will upload the fixed package to a new PPA as soon as possible, this means that you'll have a sources.list entry for this and other obvious and missing fixes for ubuntu.
