Thanks for the report, but evince and evince-gtk they use the same
library for displaying pdfs which is poppler, if you can't see a pdf
with evince you neither can do it with the other one. It seems that
there's something broken on your system rather, Do you have the Visual
Effects enabled? Does the same happens without them? Can you test the
same with another new user? thanks.
