Hi Oliver That's exactly how I changed the window manager. And I just checked again my settings with gconf-editor and it showed for both of them (current and default) the path to xfwm4.
I changed window manager on feisty and had no problems what so ever. I upgraded then to gutsy when it was still in beta status. Again no problems. Shortly before the official release of gutsy, I installed some updated packages and from now on startup process was broken. So I don't think I did something wrong in changing the wm. I checked the gconf settings. Any other settings to check? -- session start takes very long https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184977 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-volume-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
