I've tried adding Allow from statement in my cupsd.conf for my ip address and 
localhost with no luck.

here's the error log entries, as I launch and run gnome-cups-add:

"/usr/lib/cups/driver": No such file or directory
E [11/Apr/2006:11:51:11 -0700] CUPS-Add-Printer: Unauthorized
E [11/Apr/2006:11:51:11 -0700] copy_model: empty PPD file!
E [11/Apr/2006:11:51:11 -0700] PID 9183 stopped with status 1!
E [11/Apr/2006:11:51:11 -0700] [cups-driverd] Unable to open 
"/usr/share/ppd/������������" - No such file or directory
