I also have the same problem. I have installed Ubuntu 8.04 to my home-PC
(installation from 32-bit alternate installation CD to empty hard-drive)
and the weather-data works perfectly. However, I upgraded my workplace
PC from 7.10 to 8.04 and the time-date applet does not show the weather
data. Location is set correctly. If I expand the applet, the weather is
shown normally. I also noticed that if check/uncheck  "Show weather" and
"Show temperature" check-boxes on "Preferences" menu, the date-time
display moves to right (when checking) or to left (when unchecking).
