Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
I have an up-to-date pure Hardy install where I have GNOME set up to use two keyboard layout variants in gnome-keyboard-properties: USA/Dvorak and USA/Default. Dvorak is the default. It is also the one specified in my Xorg.conf: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Generic Keyboard" Driver "kbd" Option "CoreKeyboard" Option "XkbRules" "xorg" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "us" Option "XkbVariant" "dvorak" EndSection The problem is that the GNOME keyboard shortcuts configured with gnome- keybinding-properties seem to ignore it when I switch between keyboard layouts. They always use my default layout, Dvorak. The rest of my apps use the current layout correctly. The problem occurs regardless of how I switch layouts. e.g., using layout switching shortcuts, the layout switching applet, or even re-ordering the two layouts in gnome-keyboard- properties all gets ignored by the GNOME keyboard shortcuts. I realize that this bug may have been intended as a feature, but if so then it should be configurable. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.04 Release: 8.04 $ apt-cache policy gnome-control-center gnome-control-center: Installed: 1:2.22.1-0ubuntu4.1 Candidate: 1:2.22.1-0ubuntu4.1 Version table: *** 1:2.22.1-0ubuntu4.1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com hardy-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:2.22.1-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gnome keyboard shortcuts ignore layout changes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229259 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
