Oh, when your in a terminal window just type 'telnet <mailserver> 25'. It's important that you put a space after the mailserver name when you add the 25... What your looking for is a 1 or 2 line welcome message from the mail server... If it doesn't work there will be an error saying it could not connect or something like that,
