The reason we can't confirm it at this time is because it is possible that there was another cause for the problem, but the kernel upgrade happened to be in the mix and was simply the most visible candidate as the source of the problem. Hopefully somebody else will stop by and confirm this, otherwise it is fortunate that it acts more like a simple and easily fixed glitch than a full fledged bug.
